It was a defining moment for me when I was a boy - the day my dad taught me to drive our trucks on the farm. He wouldn't let me practice by just driving around, instead he insisted I learn while using them as tools for working more efficiently. That approach did me well as I grew to operate heavy machinery and larger trucks. Today, I paid that favor forward by teaching my son to plow snow around the house, greenhouses, and barn. He did so well that in a few short months he'll surely operate the 'tiller, mulch layer, and mower deck on the back of the John Deeres.
